The violence 58,000 students survived made President-elect Donald Trump speak to those who were harmed in the incident who took the life of one person, and left many others in hospitals.

This Monday, a driver went straight into a group of pedestrians, and attacked the students using a knife. An Ohio State police officer shot the attacker. The dark incident took 9 people in a hospital.

As Western Journalism reports, the attacker was a Somali refugee. His attack was intentional, as confirmed by the police.

“Watching the news unfold at Ohio State University. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the students and administration,” Trump posted on his Facebook fan page.

“Excellent job by the Ohio State University Emergency Management Team (OSU_EMFP) in immediately notifying students & faculty via social media with the message: ‘Buckeye Alert: Active Shooter on campus. Run Hide Fight. Watts Hall. 19th and College,’” he added.

“THANK YOU to all FIRST RESPONDERS who reacted immediately and eliminated the threat on campus,” the President-elect wrote..

People responded to Trump’s message, cause he is one of the few who speaks about issues other than politics.

“Thank u mr president for being the first in my existence as a man of power to get on social media explaining the situation. I wish this happened all the time,” was stated in the commend by Melissa Hudson.

Some outlined the difference between Obama and Trump.

“Thank you for showing your support and care and concern for the people of Ohio state. You won’t see Obama talking about this,” said Shane Marcum.

“Thank you President Elect Trump for making such quick supportive responses to these situations..unlike the current President,” posted Linda Jean.

There one college student, too.

“As a student at OSU who was on campus while this was happening, thank you so much for making this post. Thoughts and prayers with my fellow Buckeyes today,” said Josh Cardosi.
