“I am thrilled to nominate Dr. Ben Carson as our next Secretary of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development,” Trump said in a statement. “Ben Carson has a brilliant mind and is passionate about strengthening communities and families within those communities.”
“I am honored to accept the opportunity to serve our country in the Trump administration,” the tweet read.

He even released a statement of his own regarding this topic.
“I feel that I can make a significant contribution particularly by strengthening communities that are most in need,” he said in the statement. “We have much work to do in enhancing every aspect of our nation and ensuring that our nation’s housing needs are met.”
The news came as a surprise to some, as Carson had told The Washington Post last month that he would prefer to “work from the outside not from the inside.”
“I’ve said that if it came to a point where he absolutely needs me, I’d reconsider,” he said at the time. “But I don’t think that’s the situation with these positions. Having me as a federal bureaucrat would be like a fish out of water, quite frankly.”
Carson has been analyzing his qualifications for the position in a interview later that month.
“I grew up in the inner city and have spent a lot of time there, and have dealt with a lot of patients from that area and recognize that we cannot have a strong nation if we have weak inner cities,” he told Fox Business News host Neil Cavuto.
He is loud proud and clear, even though he first has to get approval by Senate.
